How do I attach a single point sling to my weapon?

Logged at 11:20am on December 7th, 2006 by Jason

Regardless which brand of single point sling you purchase, you will need a mounting solution. The single point sling was designed to attach at a location near the receiver of your weapon. Near receiver mounting solutions come in a many flavors for a variety of weapon platforms. Some require gunsmith weapon modification while others are a simple bolt on solution.

The single point sling is most often used on the M16 / AR15 weapon platform, so let’s begin there. The ideal solution for a carbine equipped with a collapsible stock is going to be a single point receiver end plate. Our SPRE™ mount replaces the stock receiver plate and provides one or more sling loops directly between the buffer tube and the back of the receiver. Since our slings all come packaged with one auxiliary stub, there is nothing more to purchase. You simply attach the auxiliary stub to the SPRE™, clip the auxiliary stub into the sling and you’re good to go.

For installation instructions for our SPRE™ mount please see our detailed how to article located here.
